Authorship
Artificial intelligence tools may not be listed as authors or co-authors of any submission. Authorship carries responsibilities for intellectual contribution, accuracy, and accountability that only humans can fulfill. Authors bear full responsibility for all content in their papers, including any content generated or assisted by AI.
Research Uses of AI/LLMs (Disclosure Required)
When AI tools are used as part of the research process, for example, to conduct literature reviews, generate synthetic data, scrape or collect data, or code and categorize data, authors must describe this use in the Methods section of their manuscripts. The description should specify the tool used, its purpose, and the extent of human oversight applied to the outputs.
Writing Uses of AI/LLMs (No Disclosure Required)
Authors may use AI tools to assist with the writing process, such as drafting, editing, grammar, or clarity improvements, without disclosure. The writing, substance, arguments, and findings must remain the authors’ own work.
